Who we are
Synthiya is a web app at synthiya.ai. It sums up what people say in App Store reviews and customer feedback. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Synthiya. "You" means anyone who visits the site or uses the app.
This policy covers the website, the app, our emails, the feedback widget and the hosted feedback pages. Questions? Email hello@synthiya.ai.
What we collect
Your account
When you sign up, we store your email, your name if you add one, and your password. We store the password only as a secure hash, so no one can read it, not even us. We also keep your plan, your settings and your projects.
App Store reviews
When you run a teardown or connect an app, we fetch its recent reviews from Apple's public App Store feed. These reviews are public. They can include the reviewer's nickname, as shown on the App Store.
Customer feedback you send in
You can add feedback with a CSV file, our widget, a hosted feedback page or our API. This can include your customers' names and emails if they choose to share them. You control this data. We store and process it only to run Synthiya for you.
If you leave feedback on a form we host
Many of our customers use Synthiya to collect feedback. If you send feedback on one of their forms, that company decides how your message is used. We store it for them. Your name and email are optional.
Payments
Stripe handles every payment. You type your card details on Stripe's page, not ours, so we never see or store your full card number. We keep your plan, its status, your billing period and your Stripe customer ID.
Server logs and abuse checks
Like every website, our servers log basic request data. That means your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. We use it to keep the site safe and to fix errors. To stop abuse, we also count requests per IP address for free tools and teardowns. We delete those counts after 24 hours.
How we use your data
We use your data only to run and improve Synthiya. That means we use it to:
- show your dashboard, themes, reports and reply drafts
- analyze reviews and feedback with AI
- send the emails you asked for, and the ones we must send
- take payments and handle your plan
- keep accounts safe and stop spam and abuse
- answer you when you write to us
We never sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
AI processing by Anthropic
Synthiya uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. We send Claude the text it needs to do its job: review text, feedback text and short notes like the app's name. Claude sends back themes, summaries and reply drafts.
We use Anthropic's paid API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, they do not use this data to train their models. They may keep it for a short time to run the service and to catch misuse.
We don't send your password or payment details to the AI. If you don't want a piece of feedback analyzed, don't upload it, or delete it in the app.
Who we share data with
We use a few trusted companies to run Synthiya. Each one gets only the data it needs.
| Company | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosts our servers and database, and sends our emails. |
| Anthropic | Runs the Claude AI that reads reviews and feedback. |
| Stripe | Takes payments and handles invoices. |
| Apple | We fetch public reviews and app details from the App Store. App icons load from Apple's servers, so Apple may see your IP address when your browser loads them. |
| Slack | Only if you connect it. We post urgent feedback to the Slack channel you pick. |
We may also share data if the law makes us, or to protect people from harm. If Synthiya is ever sold, your data would move to the new owner under this same policy, and we would tell you first.
Some of these companies work in the United States and other countries. They protect data with standard legal safeguards.
Emails we send
- Account emails. Welcome, password resets, receipts and plan changes. You get these while you have an account.
- Tips to get started. A few short emails that help you get value from Synthiya. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off on your account page.
- Weekly digests. A summary of your own project's feedback, on paid plans. Turn it off in your project settings.
- Followed apps. When you follow an app's teardown, we email you when it changes. Each email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Newsletter. We add you only after you confirm by email (double opt-in). Each issue has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Updates from apps you gave feedback to. If you left your email on a company's feedback form, that company can tell you when they ship what you asked for. Each email has an unsubscribe link.
When you unsubscribe, we keep a note of it so we never email you that list again.
Referral links
Customers can share a referral link. If you open one, we set a cookie called syn_ref that remembers who sent you, for 60 days. If you sign up and later pay, the person who invited you gets a credit, and so do you. The cookie holds only a short code, not your personal data.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a small number of first-party cookies. We don't use tracking cookies, analytics tools or ad pixels.
| Name | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
synthiya_sid | Keeps you logged in and protects forms from forgery. | Up to 30 days |
syn_ref | Remembers who referred you. Set only when you open a referral link. | 60 days |
syn_news | Hides the newsletter box once you have joined. | 1 year |
syn_rv | A random ID so you can vote once on a public roadmap. Set only on roadmap pages. | 1 year |
synthiya-theme | Your light or dark theme choice. It stays in your browser's local storage and is never sent to us. | Until you change it |
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time. If you block the session cookie, you can't log in.
How long we keep data
- Your account and projects: for as long as your account is open.
- When you delete your account: we delete your projects, feedback, reports and settings right away. Copies in our host's backups expire on their normal schedule.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires.
- Email lists: until you unsubscribe. Ask us and we will remove your address completely.
- Abuse counters: 24 hours.
- Public teardowns: they stay online. They hold public reviews and AI summaries, not your personal data.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Export it. Each project has an "Export CSV" link on its feedback page.
- Correct it. You can edit most details on your account page.
- Delete it. Go to your account page and choose "Delete my account". It takes one click and a confirm.
- Object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it. You can also unsubscribe from any marketing email.
Email hello@synthiya.ai for anything else. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere. We hash passwords and protect every form against forgery. Only the people who run Synthiya can reach the database. No system is perfect. If we ever have a breach that affects you, we will tell you quickly and explain what we are doing about it.
Children
Synthiya is a tool for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child gave us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is big, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
